Club To Club is an avant-pop and electronic music festival. Founded in 2002 by cultural association Situazione Xplosiva, it takes place every year in November in Turin, Italy. 60,000 people took part in the 2017 edition.
Early years (2002 - 2007)
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]Club To Club was founded in Turin in 2002 by Situazione Xplosiva's Sergio Ricciardone, Roberto Spallacci and Giorgio Valletta. The original project consisted of a club circuit located in the Murazzi del Po[1] area.
Over the years, the festival extended its length to more days.
Among the artists featured in the early years' lineups are Jeff Mills, Carl Craig, Apparat, Ricardo Villalobos, Ellen Allien, Tiga e Jamie Lidell.
Evolution and growth (2008 - 2012)
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]From 2009 to 2015 selected shows have taken place at Teatro Carignano.
Among the artists featured over these years' lineups are Flying Lotus, Jamie xx, Disclosure, Caribou, SBTRKT, Kode9 plays Burial, Modeselektor, Four Tet, Pivot, Alva Noto, Nina Kraviz.
Recent years (2013 - Today)
[modifica | modifica wikitesto]In 2013 and 2017 selected festival shows have taken place at Officine Grandi Riparazioni di Torino.
In 2014 the programme extends to 5 days, reaching 7 days of length in 2017.
Among the artists featured over these years' lineups are Thom Yorke, Kraftwerk, Franco Battiato and Jonny Greenwood.
In 2017, almost 60,000 took part in the seventeenth edition, titled #C2C17.
Amongst new venues used in this period are the Palace of VEnaria, OGR, conservatorio giuseppe verdi, Circolo Magnolia, Fabrique, Fabbrica del Vapore and Museo d'arte orientale.

[modifica | modifica wikitesto]A partire dal 2007, il festival di Torino è stato anticipato da eventi in anteprima su base annuale in diverse città d'Italia.
Tra gli artisti che hanno preso parte alle anteprime ci sono James Blake, gli Swans, i The Knife e i Metronomy.
