Apple will create a new UK office at London's Battersea Power Station[1]

The former power plant, which is located in the borough of Nine Elms in southwest London, will be the focal point of a bigger rehabilitation project (called the Battersea Power Station development) that will contain flats, hotels, roof gardens, parks, and other offices high-end[2]. It is one of the most expensive construction projects in the London history.

Apple said in a statement to The Insight that the facility will open in 2022 and that it is excited to call it "one of the city's most recognisable monuments." Apple is expected to take up all six floors of the so-called "Cathedral of Power office " space. Apple currently has eight different offices across London, but the new Battersea Power Station location will allow the company to consolidate it and have 1,400 employees at its new London campus, according to the Evening Standard.[3]

The company will occupy 40% of the office space in the entire development, becoming the power plant's largest tenant and the largest employer in the Wandsworth borough.

"I am delighted that Apple is moving to Battersea Power Station, helping to generate new jobs and economic prosperity for Londoners," said London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

"It's another sign that London is open to the world's biggest brands and the leading city for trade and investment."
