Hello and welcome to the Italian Wikipedia! We appreciate your contributions. If your Italian skills are not good enough, that’s no problem. We have an embassy where you can inquire for further information in your native language or you can contact directly a user in your language. We hope you enjoy your time here!

Hi, the majority of it.wiki users don't speak english so edits in languages other then italian usually are removed. Besides, the discussion about that terminology was in 2011, since then it is undisputed. --Civvì (be nice with dinosaurs...) 06:53, 8 nov 2016 (CET)[rispondi]

This is EXTREMELY unfriendly, Wikmedia do not work like this, notably not in talk pages. I've never seens such intolerance on any wiki of Wikimedia for talk pages where all languages are welcome, and even prefered to talking approcimative language (using English allows good understanding and correct interpretation by automated translators, if if we know that they do not have exact grammar/orthograph or linguistic style.
What you are saying is that this wiki will never want any one else than native Italians.
But deleting comments will not help you and will not allow international cooperations on any topic. If really nobody can understand English on this wiki, you'll live in a small world. On Wikimedia multilingual users are welcome to work with multiple languages (note: English is not even my native language, but my level pf Italian is really too poor for being able to write in it, even if I read it withjout problem).
Stay alone then in your small world. You are just contradicting the automated welcome message above, adopted by your community!! Verdy p (msg) 07:28, 8 nov 2016 (CET)[rispondi]
I'm not saying that non-native speakers aren't welcome, there is an Embassy where you can leave messages or translation requests, you can contact other english or french speakers, there is ample tolerance towards messages in foreign languages in user talk pages but adding 8k of comment in english to a discussion of an article (wasn't even a discussion) is, imho, quite unfriendly towards other italian speaking users who were part of that discussion and have the right to read clearly and without the usual misunderstandings resulting from automated translations. Besides, that point was closed 6 years ago, but who I am to judge how you use your spare time...
Please be advised that in ns0 it could be that there will be even less tolerance towards unintelligeble edits, as clearly stated in our speed deletion criteria nr 3. --Civvì (be nice with dinosaurs...) 08:17, 8 nov 2016 (CET)[rispondi]
This ~was NOT ns0. This is a talk page... Also the embassy is for asking new questions, not for commenting existing topics on a talk page. What I wrote did not match your description of what emabssies can do. I was not asking any question. And "unintelligible" is just wrong, even if your level of English is poor. Anyway no one on any wiki translates comments from other people for specific articles. Each one reads what he wants, and interpret, and then if needed he will ask if there are doubts. And may be at that time an emabssy may start helping.
The topic in question is not closed because I find both orthographies used confusingly on this wiki (via various links pointing tro wrong articles because of the bad terms used in articles (also exported to Wikidata). Verdy p (msg) 08:22, 8 nov 2016 (CET)[rispondi]
Can you explain what you find confusing, what do you mean with "both orthographies"? The article you commented is about the States of Germany (Bundesland), the administrative subdivision of Germany. As a convention we decided to use plural, like Regioni d'Italia, Dipartimenti della Francia and all the other. Before coming to this decision the article has been moved a couple of times, for sure not all "what links here" are correct, is that the problem? --Civvì (be nice with dinosaurs...) 15:14, 8 nov 2016 (CET)[rispondi]
No it's not that problem at all, it was all about "federaLi" vs. "federaTi" (not the same term, the former being necessarily singular per federation as it refers to it as a whole, the later being plural as it refers to the multiple members of the federation). All the discussion was about that confusion of terms, giving more examples, and there are confusions in this wiki between "T" and "L". Verdy p (msg) 16:02, 8 nov 2016 (CET)[rispondi]
So, actions needed? --Civvì (be nice with dinosaurs...) 16:05, 8 nov 2016 (CET)[rispondi]
