English: Founding stock certificate of the "Neue Theater-AG" in Frankfurt am Main for 250 Marks, issued in July 1877. The transfer of the opera and playhouse to the company was based on the contract concluded with the city of Frankfurt a.M. on 21 February 1877, only expired in 1929 after six extensions. In 1792, Frankfurt citizens founded the "Erste Frankfurter Theater-AG", which was liquidated in 1842 after financial difficulties. In 1854, the "Zweite Frankfurter Theater-AG" was founded. After a considerable operating deficit was discovered in 1876, the general assembly decided to liquidate the joint-stock company. The plan presented by the Mayor Daniel Heinrich Mumm von Schwarzenstein to build a new theatre building on Scherbius- und Andrea'schen Platz on Bockenheimer Landstraße, today's Opernplatz, seemed to fail because of the financing of the construction costs. In 1877, the Neue Theater-AG was founded to close the financial gap. The new company's share capital of 250,000 marks was divided into 1,000 shares of 250 marks each, of which 974 shares were subscribed. According to the statutes of the joint-stock company, "Every shareholder received dividend coupons and enjoyed preferential rights to the boxes and stalls in the opera house for non-subscription performances. In addition, shareholders could order one seat per share for performances at the theatre earlier than the rest of the public."
Deutsch: Gründungsaktie der "Neuen Theater-Aktiengesellschaft" in Frankfurt a.M. über 250 Mark, ausgegeben im Juli 1877. Die Überlassung von Oper und Schauspielhaus an die Gesellschaft erfolgte aufgrund des mit der Stadt Frankfurt a.M. am 21. Februar 1877 geschlossenen Vertrages, nach sechs Verlängerungen erst 1929 ausgelaufen. 1792 gründeten Frankfurter Bürger die "Erste Frankfurter Theater-Aktiengesellschaft", die nach finanziellen Schwierigkeiten 1842 liquidiert wurde. 1854 wurde die "Zweite Frankfurter Theater-Aktiengesellschaft" gegründet. Nachdem 1876 ein erheblicher Betriebsdefizit festgestellt wurde, beschloß die Generalversammlung die Liquidation der Aktiengesellschaft. Der von dem Oberbürgermeister Daniel Heinrich Mumm von Schwarzenstein vorgelegte Plan zum Bau eines neuen Theatergebäudes auf dem Scherbius- und Andrea’schen Platz an der Bockenheimer Landstraße, dem heutigen Opernplatz, schien an der Finanzierung der Baukosten zu scheitern. Die 1877 wurde die Neue Theater-Aktiengesellschaft gegründet, um die Finanzlücke zu schließen. Das Grundkapital der neuen Gesellschaft in Höhe von 250.000 Mark war eingeteilt in 1.000 Aktien zu je 250 Mark, wovon 974 Aktien gezeichnet wurden. Laut Satzung der Aktiengesellschaft "Jeder Aktionär erhielt Dividendenscheine und genoß ein Vorrecht auf die Logen und Parkettplätze im Opernhaus bei Vorstellungen außerhalb des Abonnements. Darüber hinaus konnten die Aktionäre früher als das übrige Publikum einen Platz pro Aktie für die Vorstellungen im Schauspielhaus bestellen." |
